Our blood contains red blood cells, and the are made from haemoglobin molecules. Glucose within our blood sticks to the haemoglobin to create what is known 'glycosylated haemoglobin' molecules, which are also referred to as haemoglobin A1C or HbA1C. The better the numbers of glucose that we now have in the blood, then the more haemoglobin A1C or HbA1C will be present.
